I knew there would be something not-quite-right about that query. Too broad, too much a label, I guess.

The description of the mid-west kind of reminds me of Melbourne. Here, people who frequent the city do at times comment at experiencing four seasons in one day. And indeed, last year when I set out it was raining; by the time I stopped off the train, there was bright sunshine. A saying derived from this is "perfect one day, shithouse the next," a play on "beautiful one day, perfect the day," which relates to Queensland. :pp

Our farmers are having difficulties as draught has been a long-standing problem for some years now. Indeed, more so than in any other state, Melbourne's dams are comparatively empty. I believe the last reported capacity was in the region of 30-something percent. Of course their crops are suffering and water restrictions have been enforced some times over. Our showers are to last three minutes or so. Vegetable prices have been jacked up considerably, although I don't wish to complain excessively as the plight of the farmers seems more concerning than our situation.
