He was there at Locke's birth. Also did a Dalai Lama-style test with him when he was a young child (he failed), and lured him to an intership at Mittelos when he was a teen (Locke declined).
Oh, and Abbadon made an appearance as Locike's orderly.
Did I mention Christian Shepherd was in Jacob's cabin? :D
