It was fairly entertaining to watch the news from south of the border, where everybody in NY freaks out the minute it snows, and up here the most panicky thing that happened was the street plow guys went on strike for 3 hours in December. When the city heard their case and realized they had not in fact got paid in weeks, the city made good on paychecks *and* gave everybody a day off so they'd be fresh and rested two days later when the next salvo hit.

We didn't have anywhere near the freakish amount of snow that fell in Montreal our last winter in the States.
