Exactly when did South Park jump the shark?

I remember the first couple of seasons, I watched it regularly. But the last episode I thought was really funny was the mormon episode (dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb!), probably because I am an ex-mormon.

But I watched it last week and remembered why I don't tend to watch it anymore. It's just crass, rude, crude and worst of all, completely unfunny. (If it's funny, gimme all the crass rude and crude ya got!) When did this happen? At what point did Parker and Stone just run out of ideas and turn their little cartoon into a mere weekly attempt to outdo the shock factor of each previous episode?
