24. Not really ..
The old windows and glass are very leaky. We replaced the 1940 addition's windows (master B/R, bath, and den) with double-hung Pella windows. With the 5-zone, double furnace heating, we can isolate the heat (although the front rooms must stay temp-even because of the piano).

The 3/12 (and sometimes 2/12 or less) roof pitch would never do in your region. That is much too shallow for your snowfalls. Ironically, Frank Loyd Wright designed many a house in the upper mid-west with 3/12 roof slopes. Go figure.
