Or there will just be a polite detente. Very rarely is there prolonged hostility - esp. if you continue to let Spooky know s/he is still very loved, and if you can, try to feed Spooky first. Then there should be no problems. We have 7 cats - moved here with all but 2 and have added 5, and it really only took about 1-2 weeks for the hissy fits to stop. Now they're all buddies.

Thank you for taking her in - poor baby, hungry and no claws.
