It's got to be mostly mental. Once you're committed to driving these things, I guess you just have an immunity to sea-sickness. Just about the time the grunts would start puking, I'd bust out an MRE and start eating, just to fuck with them. There's nothing like an Omelet with Ham with the smell of diesel and vomit and about 120 decibels of a 900 cubic inch turbo-diesel engine. We would be nice and pass out plastic bags beforehand, nobody would ever take them, so they'd have to puke in their helmets if we couldn't get them one in time. Puking on the floor was a huge no-no, because it would foul the bilge pumps and possibly sink us. :) The Australian Marines we trained with at one point were a different breed, they loved throwing up in their helmets, and took pictures of it.

and don't get me started on night-ops, heheheh in the back it was nothing but :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: 20 foot swells in total darkness while driving back to the ship, good times!
