At 20 months, my daughter was still on the bottle and the Binkie.

One morning after a long discussion the night before, my ex-wife and I took a pair of scissors and cut off the very end of the nipple on my daughter's bottle. In fact, we cut ALL the nipples we had, AND all the Binkies.

When she woke up the morning after we cut them, and put the bottle in her mouth, there was instant displeasure. We went through every nipple in the drawer where they were kept (she knew where it was) and after a short while convinced her that they were all "broken" and that there was nothing we could do to fix them. The Binkie thing didn't take much longer than that.

Problem solved. One day.
