Via Steve Benen at Washington Monthly, Justin Elliott for Salon reports that Laurent Gbagbo has many connections to the American religious right. Terry Krepel at Conwebwatch criticizes Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily for framing this as a "Christians vs. Muslims" issue.

International support of the election in which Gbagbo's opponent Alassane Ouattara won doesn't matter. Nor in America...where evidence shows that Al Gore could've won the 2000 election but wasn't official due to the Supreme Court case. So is that why the Republican (not Democratic) party is the conservative one?
