That's because we don't like it. It can kill us. That's why we have to control it, manipulate it, and finally destroy it to save ourselves.

Yes, yes, yes, I know, that sounds crazy, and that's where the problem is in our quest for perfection. If we ever reach perfection, we still can't stop improving on it. To stop would mean a loss of perfection, and progress says that just isn't allowable. That's why it sounds so crazy, because it is. But that's what our relentless drive for perfection has done to us.
