Rabbit hunter shot dead by own gun

Three friends were riding on a shooting platform in the tray when the man drove over a bump.

The shotgun belonging to one of the passengers accidentally discharged, firing through the roof of the utility and into the back of the driver's head.

The man, who lived in the Horsham area, was fatally wounded and died at the scene.

The party had been rabbiting, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
