Bergson (Hillel Kook) was a member of Irgun; therefore he was at one time a colleague of Begin and other future founders of the Likud. My guess is that the poster is focussing on this, rather than on his rescue activities. However, what is sometimes not realized is that Kook broke seriously with Begin, and had very different views of what Israel should be. For example, he wanted Israel to have a written constitution which among other things would guarantee equal right to all Israeli citizens, Jews and non-Jews; and he thought that there should be a Palestinian state.

In any case, none of this should be used to devalue his crucial life-saving role in rescuing many Jews during a terrible period of history.
