54. Playing it the other way hasn't done us a whole lot of good..

It's not exactly a news flash that we're not going to win much more than symbolic victories in a 55-44 (or 45) Senate. The alternative is to do nothing, which would piss plenty of people off (myself included) to no end.

Barbara Boxer isn't perfect, but at least she's showing some much-needed gumption. At a time when other Dems are asking what core principles, like Separation of Church and State, equality for Gays & Lesbians, or Reproductive Choice, we can jettison overboard in interest of courting the red state "left behind" kook contingent, at least Barbara Boxer believes in what she stands up for and stands up for what she believes in. We could use more like her.
