If Obama and Hillary are "tied" for cash on hand, please explain why Obama sent out an email...

Begging for money, stating:

"The situation here is simple. We are $2.1 million behind. We must close that gap right now. I need you to make a donation of $50"

Either Hillary is ahead, or Obama is lying to his supporters in order to raise money. Neither would surprise me.

EDIT: For those of you who don't the backstory to this, Obama supporters are claiming that Hillary and Obama are TIED for amount of cash on hand. They claim that Hillary lied about being ahead of Obama, and one Obama supporter even accused Hillary of having "crooked accountants."
