he's now suddenly "not really black?"

It's nice that white folks want to claim him - or at least part of him - now. But throughout history, people with Obama's racial makeup have been classified BY SOCIETY, BY GOVERNMENT, and by all manner of white people as BLACK (previously known as "negro."). Obama didn't make the rules. Black people didn't make the rules. White folk made the rules and made it very clear that anyone with even a drop of black blood was black, no questions, no exceptions.

I'm sure Obama really appreciates that, in his 47th year, after spending his life having to negotiate with the world as a black man, he is now being welcomed as a long-lost son of white America. :sarcasm:
