so if it expires after they vote in the states what is the point of an agreement at all.

The point was that Florida moved too close to their primaries so they made them promise not to campaign there, period.

With Obama already running ads in Florida, and Clinton making the fuss to count the votes, I think both of them have already broken their pledge.

Obama says he has the permission of the SC delegation to run the ads in Florida, and the DNC (which accordng to the DNC is a lie), but even if he did, he (and Clinton) *already* got the benefit from the pledge with the IA, NH, and NV voters and to break it in any fashion, especially after the other party has already lived up to their end, is wrong.
