5. Super Delegates are party leaders.
Democrats in Congress, the Senate, governors, former Senators, etc.

They get a delegate vote at the convention, and are not bound to how voters from their districts voted. In essence, they get a weighted vote. They can vote for whomever they chose.

Of the 4061 delegates total, 796 are Super delegates.

A couple hundred or so have indicated who they want to vote for (ie Ted Kennedy for Obama). THey are not bound to that, and can change anytime until they vote at the convention.
