41. Well, I certainly agree with your subject line, if nothing else.
I guess those pollsters whose results I cited, that were published in the Boston Globe had their heads up their asses, eh? Maybe THEY need new calculators?

Frankly, there's enough spin on this board to wring a wet blanket completely dry. That will come in useful to you, I'm sure.

As for my two Senators, it's fine that their endorsements were "intended" to have national import. But as a Boston pol named Tip O'Neill who never lost an election, and who has more than one major building project named after him, once said, "All politics is LOCAL."

See, we LOCALS gave those two Senators their seats--not a 'national' electorate--WE did. We get off our asses and go vote for those guys every six years, through rain, sleet, and snow. I drive people to the polls to so do, in fact.

And they couldn't sell the crowd that reliably VOTES for them over the course of DECADES that their pick was the best. We, their loyal constituency, essentially told them that they made an error in judgment.

See, we local voting trees ARE that forest you smugly note, and the people who just couldn't see it were our esteemed Senators.
