I think it was the Vietnam War, anyway. He first said he knew more about the Vietnam War than anyone in the world, then corrected himself and said he knew more about the war than many in the world. After that he started talking about America, lost his train of thought, stopped speaking for a few seconds and then put on his glasses to read his notes. It was one of the most awkward moments in debate history.
