11. All this "worship at the altar", "St Obama" etc crap is just an attack on his greater idealism ...
Obama and the campaign, and supporters, have NOT been going around portraying him as a "saint" or anything like it -- so where does this religious meme come from? The term 'cult', which could easily have been applied to the MUCH more frenzied support for Bobby Kennedy in 68 (there's NO comparison) doesn't answer the question -- it exemplifies the problem.

Clearly any notion of idealism and enthusiasm, any notion of politics as anything better than a dirty and necessary chore, any 'pretense' (since ONLY pretense is ever possible) of a politics of hope, or any kind of idealism, is despised.

In the GE, I would expect Repukes and the RW generally to use the EXACT same meme against Obama -- the appeal to cynicism is one of the MOST ENTICING of the Obama-bashing demi-urges.

Others will claim he projects some kind of extraordinary hypocrisy, but the PURE PROJECTION of this "Saint Obama" stuff is obviously NOT reflective of external reality, only of an appeal to cynicism
