Welcome to the Obama-supporters' double-standard!

Let me first say, for the record, that this "Obama is a closet Muslim," or has a "Muslim attitude" towards women (whatever the hell that is), is bigoted CRAP and does not belong on DU.

Second, I did not hear what Gerry Ferraro said first-hand, only second-hand on this board. So I will not comment on whether her comments were or weren't racist, or whether Obama's reply was or wasn't sexist, because I don't know.

BUT I will say this: When 90% of African-American primary voters vote for Obama, everyone yawns. Like, yeah, the sky is blue--so what? If ANYONE suggests it might be because Barack Obama is, I don't know, PURPLE, then that same blue-colored sky comes fucking crashing in on whoever made such a suggestion like they must be a Grand Wizard of the KKK!!

On the other hand, should anyone from the Hillary camp point out the misogynistic GARBAGE that gets thrown at their candidate EVERY DAY by the MSM (Tweety Mathews and all the rest), not to mention the Right Wing Hate Crime otherwise known as conservative talk radio, they are promptly told that there IS no problem, or that Hillary is "playing the victim" or "that's just how people talk" or whatever.

If you wonder if that's true or not, take every time someone has talked about a female politician using words like "bitch," "witch," "broom," "feminazi," "shrew," or worse, and substitute your favorite racial slur about Obama or any other non-white politician, including but not limited to the n-word, and see how many seconds might pass before you were banned for life from DU or any other non-right-wing board.

As I've said over and over, I'm undecided. Still. Frankly, I don't like either of them much, anymore. Hell, if this thing drags on much longer, I might actually HAVE to decide--the Oregon primary is in May--and that's the only reason I bother reading anything you nutcases write in GD-P anymore!

But I WILL take a look at Obama's positions on women's issues. I know that in terms of policy (questionable campaign tactics by surrogates notwithstanding), HRC has supported BOTH people of color AND women. I can only hope Barack Obama's record shows the same.
