of the primaries and not on who is the more favored candidate?

Let's just say a lot of folks I know have stopped participating because they have decided who it is they support and they don't want to be attacked and/or fall into the attacking to defend mode. They will return when the primaries are over - they will participate when the purpose is legitimate. That is, dividing the party and attacking dems is not what is important, what is important is keeping the GOP out of the White House and exposing McSame for what he is and how he can harm the country.

Of course, you can look at it like it means folks don't support Obama, that is your prerogative. I don't see it that way. Many have already voted and they just want this crap behind them.

I would bet you that not everyone in Rome went to the coliseum to watch the lions mangle the Christians.
