9. Well, i see a couple options

First, I see a possibility in Obama. He seems like someone who listens to the people. I have a hard time believing that he will push hard enough on his own to achieve the health care that I would see here in the US. But if We come off the bench in a major way, I can see him listening to us. I would rank that around a 30% chance, because I am rather jaded about the chances of the American people actually stepping up on this one.

As things get bad enough, economically, he may be pushed/pulled into a new New Deal. I could very well see true Universal health care coming out of that. Give that maybe another 30% depending on how things go between now and next February.

Finally, I think that if he is able to deal with situations as adeptly as he has so far, I can see us keeping the presidency for more than just one or 2 terms, rare as that has been for democrats. Even he is only able to improve the situation some, looking to the future, I can see his example opening the way for the next president to be able to close the deal. Give it another 30% there.

And then 10% thrown to the "who the fuck knows what the future holds" and the "ain't never gonna happen" contingency's.

On edit, I could go with a Canadian style system, or a more Brit style. Either would be better. Preferably blend some of the better elements of other proven plans. Gonna cost, but not near as much as the Frankenstein we have now does. Not near as much as "market price" profit based crap.
