17. As a Floridian I have been patronized, condescended to, dismissed, ridiculed...
you name it. I really wish people could tell the difference between a Floridian Republican and a Floridian Democrat. Sadly our state government is dominated by republicans for reasons I cannot fathom. I am personally acquainted with quite a number of Floridian Democrats who screamed bloody murder when they got the first whiff of this. And then there were many of us who found out too little too late.

City councilman, mayor, county commissioner, state rep, state senator, governor, U.S. Rep, one Senator and the President....my chain of representation is solidly republican with the exception of Senator Bill Nelson. Need I say more?

Florida Democrats, the rank and file registered voters at any rate, do not deserve what happened to them. A Republican dominated (still a supermajority?) state legislature and a dumbass state party apparatus are to blame. The people know darned well that rules are occasionally enforced. That's why we're pretty sure this was no "oopsy, our bad."
