I'm closer to Edwards than Obama on the issues, and I'm sad he's out of the race. But I think he's less electable than either Obama or Hillary. Primarily for the most trivial of reasons: he's too pretty. Americans like a veneer of roughness of toughness, they wouldn't take to him. The other reason is that since his key position is the "two Americas" theme, he forces the majority of Americans to admit they're on the bottom half, which goes against our deepest instincts. It's a serious issue and a correct diagnosis--but it's a losing political platform.
