10. People are afraid . . .

And by "people," I mean "left-leaning, non-political-junkie regular folks" . . . that Obama is callow and will either fold under campaign pressure or has unexamined skeletons in his closet. Clinton's skeletons dance alongside her in the light of day -- there's no more dirt to uncover.

It represents the same thing that gives McCain a fighting chance -- the belief that an old hand is needed to either maintain an even strain *or* clean up the Bushian mess, and that Obama isn't up to it.

I happen to think this is poppycock, but you can't discount the (apparent) fact that a lot of people who are not committed democrats but who are likely to vote democratic this time (and who are needed to win), are waffling on Obama because of the experience issue.

Incidentally, I also happen to think that McCain is hugely unappealing to anyone who hasn't already drunk the Kool-Aid, and will sink himself during the campaign. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but I just can't see him making it through without a major meltdown or two.

For the 'Licans to win this one, they're going to have to steal it.

Ooops.
