The Wright issue isn't over yet, either. If Obama gets the nomination, the reactionaries will pore over sermons and cross-reference them with Obama's attendance and "gotcha" him on the inevitable hot potatoes. After it dies down a bit, someone will ask Obama, point-blank, whether he knew about Wright's assertion about HIV. There's no particularly good answer to that.

Either way, he may have the momentum to force the issue and take the nomination despite all this. Denver could be truly nasty.

People of this stature owe us something, and more than anything else, they owe it to us to be squeaky clean. The road is hard and the rest of us have dreams, too.
