And how can anyone here fail to understand it? Two people represent the possibility of a real breakthrough in American politics ... the first black or the first female American President. For a lot of people that represents a hope they did not expect, really, to manifest in their life time. Whichever side of that street you are on, there is a lot of emotional energy bound up in it. It is foolish, really, to expect anything else.

Wounds heal. Reason returns. The feelings behind the statements are more significant than the statements themselves. No need to pour gas on fires or salt on bleeding sores.
