Reply #42: I know plenty of Hillary supporters

in my local Dem club, where I am very active. Last week, the largest group of them told me they thought, to their dissapointment, that Hillary was pretty much toast, but they were ready to get behind Obama and work hard to get him elected.

I think what you're seeing here are people who have been in some nasty internet arguments and feeling bruised and offended from them. The internet is a rough place to argue, since there is no face to face, things can get very nasty. Offline, in normal life, I'm not seeing this attitude from Hillary (or ex-Hillary) supporters. And once the campaign becomes Obama-McCain, instead of Hillary-Obama, I think a whole lot of them will be coming back to the fold. The realization that a McCain presidency is a very real possibility will probably be enough for most of them.
