24. I missed the chance to vote for Carter by months.
My first vote for US President was for Walter Mondale/Geraldine Ferraro vs none other than Reagan/Bush '84.

Mondale ran logical circles around Reagan at the debate, and in my young, ideological mind, I thought he couldn't lose!

Then Reagan said "there he goes again," and the pundits spent the rest of the night creaming, and calling Ronnie "the great communicator."

I didn't vote for a winner until Clinton.
