who backed Obama over HRC in the primaries who are the ones fomenting "hatred" now.

And(while I don't really think we need to belabor the point) to my mind using the term "supporters" simply acknowledges that this was and is democratic process. Democratically elected politicians have "supporters"...Rock stars and the ludicrous remnants of the deposed European royal families have "admirers". The term "admirer" is not a term rooted, as I see it anyway, in an egalitarian and democratic sensibility. It implies that the one who "admires" does so from a position of subservience and inferiority. "Supporter" implies a person who prefers a particular person or party and works for that person or party, but does so from a basic position of equality".

Anyway, that's my take on that particular semantic point.
