The whole money focus is symptomatic of the rot of the entire system. We need public financing the sooner the better.
It'll be interesting to see how all the middle class grass roots supporters of Dean respond when he takes their money and runs; i.e. operates from a venal, status quo, big business first position. That's assuming he wins; my money is still on a Kerry/Clark team. I doubt they'd govern much differently, but either of those two is FAR less personally abrasive than Dean. Kucinich, of course, is the candidate of real change and hope, but he'll be fortunate to get above two or three percent anywhere. I'm still supporting him though.
