3. Byrd was Outstanding once again on the floor of the Senate today.....
So sad that there isn't another one like him coming up. He's the last of a dying breed of Senator who has some "horse sense i.e. common sense" and a gift of oratory.

It's sad that so many don't even listen to him on the Senater floor. He had to call "order" a couple of times because many view him as an old geezer who is talking into the breeze. But, he knows and remembers "compromise" and he honors the contitution and while I might be to the left of Senator Byrd he would honor that I had my own opinion and respect it. There aren't any there who can bring us back to the "checks and balances" days of US Government like he can.

:toast: to Senator Byrd who told them if they voted for Iraq War Resolution and gave Bush those "terrible powers to use" that the Senate might as well hang out a sign: "Gone Fishing" because they would have given it ALL AWAY. And, he was correct. They gave it all away to Bush.
