I'm writing to call on you to immediately resign your position as Speaker of the House.

There's abundant evidence that you knew of Rep. Mark Foley's predatory behavior towards high school boys serving in the House page program. Kirk Fordham warned your senior staff about Foley in "more than one conversation" in 2004.

Then again in 2005, you received copies of emails that you've described as simply "overly-friendly." However, the recipient of those emails from Mr. Foley repeated the word "sick" 13 times when he forwarded the messages along…and even conservative pundit Bay Buchanan has said that one of the emails "had predator stamped all over it."

Your protestations of ignorance and innocence just don't pass the smell test with me. I find it unconscionable that you did nothing to protect the young people serving in the House over which you preside. I therefore ask that you resign your position as House Speaker immediately.
