The chairman of the Ohio County Republican Party wants Gov. Joe Manchin and other state Democrats to boycott a Jefferson Jackson dinner featuring keynote speaker Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.Marty Wright, who heads the county GOP, believes Manchin and other West Virginia Democrats should not associate themselves with Murtha, whom he calls "a San Francisco liberal" and says is included on an organization's list of most corrupt members of Congress....
Other guests will include U.S. Sens. Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller, Congressman Alan Mollohan and state Democratic Party Chairman Nick Casey....
"Of everything we need, in terms of this state, John Murtha stands for the opposite," Wright said. "Whether you're Republican or Democrat, John Murtha's values are about bigger government.
