That applies to statements about "Obama supporters" or "Clinton supporters." There are no generalizations or stereotypes about these fictional entities that ring true. (You may be annoyed by one or two supporters, but your generalization is untested.)

The real news from last night is that 70-some percent of both Obama and Clinton supporters would be satisfied if the other candidate won. Period.
