36 Degrees, Pouring Rain-Just Got Back from Canvassing Low Income Af Am Precincts in OH

I live in Central Ohio and opted to canvass near east low income precincts for the Obama campaign. I chose the same area I canvassed in 2004 for Kerry/Edwards. It is heartbreaking to see what 4 years of life under the worse president in our nation's history has done to this community. More boarded up buildings, empty lots where former building once stood and abject poverty-yet these folks still hold hope for change in this country. It warmed my frozen bones to get out and talks to folks in these neighborhoods. I'm off to pick up my kids from school and then off to a long hot bath.
