4. I was in an Infantry Training company in 1970
With 200 men, most of whom had Bachelor's degrees... just graduated, lost their deferments and been drafted.

They refused to sign up for an extra year to be officers or to go National Guard to get out of going to Vietnam.

I wonder sometimes how many of those men died, while Bush was growing his sideburns, playing weekend warrior, and packing his blue nose with high dollar coke.
