I do not see how the context excuses the attacks, which is what I saw them as, and still do.

If you look at the full context, he went down centuries of oppression of blacks by whites. He ended with Barack and Hillary. He seems to be saying, to a joyous congregation, that Hillary should be discounted, if not hated, because she is white. He seemed to be holding her up as a continuing symbol of oppression. I'm sorry, it is very clear to me. I don't know how one can watch that sermon and not come away with the same take.

And Obama did say, belatedly, that he would have walked out on the Reverend had he been there for the "controversial" sermons. What did he find offensive?

Having seen what I have seen, I want no part of it.

I don't see how anything further could erase this sermon.

Of course, it will be the "God Damn America" line that the repukes will use in the fall should Obama be the nom. And it will work. Political reality.
