Why Post? Why Say Anything? WTF Difference will it make?

At least this is what I have been thinking to myself recently.

I am just staggered at the series of events over the last few days. Hillary makes her insane comments -- just insane comments -- and anyone who has followed the issue knows why they are insane -- not just a slip of the tongue, but either planned, or a Freudian opening a window into a dark corner of her soul.

But whatever the reasons -- she could have easily defused the situation with an honest apology - an HONEST one -- but instead she has released a series of half-apologies, half justifications.

And NOW she has done a full reversal and is basically blaming the Obama campaign for the uproar! This is beyond the pale - beyond outrageous. And it is also pure Rovian -- take your weakest point, and smear your enemy with it. Call war heroes cowards while your own candidate is one of the worst cowards ever. Call your opponent out for slimeball outrageous statements while you are the one making them. This tactic actually works because the lies are so outrageous that people cannot comprehend lies of such magnitude, so they either believe the lies or get hopelessly confused. And apparently this is the current campaign strategy and is being rolled out in full force.

But the thing that completely staggers me is more than these tactics - it is the fact that her supporters find all of this quite acceptable! It doesn't matter what she says or what she does, they still support her! I see no apologies, no remorse from her supporters in GD-P. None whatsoever. Instead, I see an outpouring of "blame the victim" (even though I know Obama does not view himself as a victim in this case). Just amazing. Just sick beyond belief.

I think it is quite possible that Hillary could completely morph into Bush, and start saying things like "we should obliterate Iran" or similar war-mongering crap, and her supporters would still support her. It just doesn't seem to matter what she says or does - her supporters don't care.
