4. How could anyone possibly deny it happened?
Maybe it goes back to what Hume said...if reason is against a man the man will soon be against reason. If thought cannot rationalize desire into some semblance of logic,then desire,may as a last resort,deny the authority of thought altogether. In a life based on hopes that far out distances reason,it was to be expected for a man to invent a logic,not based in reason,that justifies their desires.
