merely postpones the inevitable, and will make the final shock, whenever it comes, that much worse.

If I were head of the Fed, or one of the key insiders, I'd be trying to deflate the market as gently as is possible under the circumstances, not prop up stock values.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just someone who has been watching this catastrophe slowly take shape over the years, with the astonishment and horror one might feel if one were watching someone cock a pistol, aim it at their own head, and slowly squeeze the trigger. I mean, compared to a genius like Greenspan, what would I know? :sarcasm:
