59. Well if she continues as an "attack dog" she will hurt her chances with Dems and
Independents. Ask Bob Dole. Dems never forgave him for his role in 1976 as Ford's attack dog. And she is never going to win without some Dem and Independent support. Dole, just as Palin is now, was pretty much a "blank slate" in 1976. He was defined as an attack dog and could never shake it. He probably would not have even won the 1996 nomination if the Republicans weren't fairly sure he had little chance at upending Clinton. Palin will be also be forever branded if she continues along these lines, no matter how much she talks about being a bipartisan maverick.
