7. My plan...
If Kerry wins, I'll be very happy for at least a few days. I'll have a victory drink or two or three and relish the concession speech. Sure there'll be very tough days ahead as the rabid-repubs go after Kerry from Day One. Unless there is a big swing in Congress, there will be no honeymoon. Kerry will have to contend with the huge mess that F*-up has created and no doubt shoulder much of the blame.

If Kerry loses, I'll feel sick and probably have many drinks to mark the passing of hope. I will then go into isolation mode. No TV news period. The TV will go off once the election is concluded. I'll only skim the newspapers, avoiding anything political, maybe even no more DU, and I'll certainly reduce my Internet news intake. I will focus on my life, the things I enjoy, and that which helps my family directly.

If Kerry can't beat the Miserable Failure, then Kerry doesn't deserve to be President and the American people deserve what they get with four more years of *. It's pretty much to the point now where there's not a damn thing we can do about this election. The debates and events will shape the remainder of the race. I've given generously to Kerry, MoveOn, and local candidates and have tried to influence those close to me. I'm signed up to do some volunteering. There's not much else left to do but prepare oneself for whatever it is may come.

I had a VERY difficult time with the Selection. It really had a huge impact on my emotional and mental well-being, as I know it had on many fellow DUers. I vow not to succumb to that reaction if the worst case comes to be. That would be like letting the terrorists win.

So I maintain a hopeful optimism tempered by the knowledge that BushCo has done an excellent propaganda job and many of our fellow Americans just don't see the world as we do.

Hope for the best but expect the worst.
