1. Friedman about a year behind the curve
Finally admitting that the long shot chance of Iraq not turning into a long term disaster for the ME and America is gone as long as Bush in charge. For a year, he's been saying that the slim chance of turning Iraq into a democracy was still there but Bush had to do this or that right away.

He evaluated Iraq correctly, but gave Bush too much credit. I knew a year ago, it doesn't matter if there is still a quarter to play in the game if your quarterback is throwing interceptions on every set of downs. Use your own dumb sports analogy.
