They openly say you're not good enough if you're not *their* religion, or at least some variant that they consider acceptable.

If they went out there and said, "Gee, I don't trust those _______ (insert belief)," we'd beat them in the middle of the street. And rightly so. But somehow, if they say, "Isn't it wonderful to be (belief such-and-such)," with a nudge and a wink, somehow everybody misses that they're implying the same thing. We know what they mean, and they do, so why do they lie?
