Is anyone else familiar with the movement to create a National Monument surrounding the Red Butte wilderness on the California/Oregon border?

Having grown up in Seiad Valley, CA right on the proposed monument and still spending lots of time in the area and in the wilderness, I'm definitely opposed to the idea. I like it the way it is and I don't want to see any more roads decommissioned, among other things. Virtually everyone living on the Klamath River seems to be in agreement on the matter.

Does anyone here have any thoughts on it?
