it was deliberate and many 'leaders' of the church are complicit.

pro war, pro bigotry, pro torture, anti abortion, reinforced by dogma and "patriotism", indoctrinated to support almost any republican party line.

unnatural. their minds must be twisted up in an orwellian pretzel.
