8. Sometimes there's a lot of uncritical
acceptance "predictions" from a person claiming to be psychic. That's what disturbs me. And a lot of explaining away the vastly wrong predictions by saying that the person foresaw only one of several possibilities or some other excuse, doesn't cut it for me.

I've been paying attention to this stuff for a good forty-five years now, and it's rather interesting how certain predictions are made over and over again, usually about some disaster, like an earthquake, or some improbable thing like Atlantis and Lemuria appearing. Or aliens landing on the front lawn of the White House. And while all these things make amusing reading, seeing what sort of track record someone has can be helpful in deciding how much credence to give to any set of predictions. And again, exercising a little judgment and common sense, not wishful thinking.

Something else about the current political scene, the Hillary vs. Barack thing: Obama will go into the convention with a clear advantage of delegates over Clinton, although probably without the number needed to be assured the nomination on the first ballot. And, if what I saw this past Saturday at the Kansas Congressional District Convention where the actual delegates to the Democratic National Convention were selected, the Obama supporters will not acquiesce to a Clinton nomination. If the party elders try to force her as the nominee, there will be open revolt on their hands.

Clinton's remaining in the campaign this long is so divisive, and so hurts the chances of Obama's being elected in November that I can't understand what she and her advisers and her supporters are thinking. If the delegate numbers were reversed, you can be sure Obama would have gracefully stepped aside quite a while ago, as did all the other men who were running at the outset.
