As long as he hangs around your place he should be ok.
You just reminded me, our mockingbirds haven't appeared and neither have the catbirds. Course they don't have as much fun since we do not let these cats outside. I swear they used to begged one of our cats to come out and play. They would play for hours too. That cat could of eaten the mockingbird a few time if he wanted to, but he liked it as much as the bird.
